한국어로 읽기This policy explains how KoreanFox handles information when you use the iOS app or contact its operator, 김진우. It describes the current app configuration as of the effective date. The availability of advertising, purchases and optional features depends on the app version, your region, device capabilities and your choices.
Your study records are kept on your device, not in an operator-run learning account. Google services used for advertising and handwriting recognition may separately process technical information. “On-device learning” does not mean that the whole app collects no data.
01 Learning records and backups
KoreanFox does not require its own user account. Study items, recognized answer text, results, response times, review schedules, daily plans, progress, language and voice preferences are stored on your device. The current app does not upload these study records to an operator-run server or provide automatic account-based synchronization.
The app also stores free-learning usage and earned advertising rewards in protected device storage to apply usage limits and prevent duplicate rewards.
If you export a study backup, the app creates an unencrypted JSON file at a location you choose. Anyone with access to that file may be able to read it. A chosen file service, such as iCloud Drive, may synchronize it under that service’s settings and policy. The app keeps one local recovery copy of the records from before a restore.
02 Handwriting, microphone and speech
Handwriting recognition uses a Korean Google ML Kit model on your device. A missing model is downloaded over the internet, subject to the app’s cellular-download setting. The app does not send your handwriting strokes to an operator-run recognition server.
Separately, Google’s ML Kit disclosure describes technical collection such as device and app information, installation identifiers, model language, feature events, errors and timing for SDK diagnostics and usage analysis. This is distinct from the handwriting being recognized. See Google’s ML Kit data disclosure and ML Kit terms and privacy information.
Speaking practice requests microphone permission and makes a temporary recording for playback and practice. Speech comparison uses Korean on-device recognition only when supported; this app does not fall back to uploading your recording to a speech-recognition server. Recognized answer text and practice results may become part of your local study records.
The app attempts to remove temporary recordings when you leave practice, restart recording or move the app into the background. An error or unexpected termination may delay cleanup. You can change microphone and speech-recognition permissions in iOS Settings; disabling them limits those features.
03 Advertising and consent
KoreanFox integrates Google AdMob for banner, interstitial and optional rewarded ads, and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising privacy choices. In the current configuration, all three ad formats ask for non-personalized ads.
The advertising SDK may process an IP address and approximate location inferred from it, device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, and crash, performance and diagnostic information. This supports ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and service improvement. These identifiers can distinguish a device or app even without a KoreanFox account. Details: Google Mobile Ads data disclosure.
Non-personalized ads can still involve data processing, including frequency limits and aggregate reporting. They do not mean that all identifiers or technical data are absent. See Google’s explanation of non-personalized ads.
The app checks UMP’s consent status before requesting ads. Where a privacy message is required and available, it lets you review the purposes and advertising partners and make choices. Where UMP requires a privacy-options entry, it is available in the app so you can revisit your choices. Your choices can affect whether ads or rewarded offers are available.
Google consent choices and Apple’s app-tracking permission are separate. Access to Apple’s advertising identifier is subject to iOS tracking permission. You can review app-tracking permissions in iOS Settings. This policy does not treat a non-personalized ad request as proof that no SDK data is collected.
Google and the partners involved in an ad request process data under their applicable policies and consent settings. Refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and the partner information in the consent message.
Firebase Analytics is disabled by default. After a current UMP result allows analytics storage, the app may send enumerated learning-event metadata: an event identifier, app version and build, interface language, learning engine, whether the activity is review or new study, result type, runtime environment and event time. The app does not put answer text, handwriting, recordings, conversation profile or notes, or an app-defined user ID in these Analytics events. Google may process device, app and diagnostic information as described in Firebase’s Apple-platform data disclosure. Withdrawing a relevant consent pauses new Analytics collection and clears the app’s local pending measurement queue; it does not retroactively erase provider-held records.
04 Notifications and purchases
Review reminders are scheduled locally. You can disable them in the app or in iOS Settings, and control what appears on your lock screen.
If purchases are offered in your app version, Apple handles payments through the App Store. KoreanFox uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to verify, restore and provide purchased access. The operator does not receive your full payment-card details through the app. Purchase availability is not guaranteed by this policy. Apple’s handling of payment and account information is explained in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
05 Support and information you send
If you email superb.tora@gmail.com, the operator receives your email address, any name shown by your email service, your message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond, investigate the issue and manage related requests. The support mailbox uses Google’s Gmail service.
The app’s contact button opens a draft in your mail app; it does not send automatically. It prefills the app version, iOS version and selected language, without automatically attaching study records or recordings. Please do not send passwords, verification codes or payment-card numbers, and send a study backup only when needed for your request.
06 Retention, deletion and service providers
- Local study data: stays in app storage until removed or replaced. Removing the app, offloading it, deleting an exported file and removing an operating-system backup are different actions. Check each relevant location. Some protected storage may persist across reinstallation.
- Support messages: are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and related follow-up, and longer only when needed for legal obligations, security or dispute handling. You may ask for deletion using the contact address above.
- Provider-held information: Google, Apple and any file or email service you use apply their own retention and deletion procedures. The operator cannot remotely erase your device files or promise to delete all provider records through a single app action.
Google provides advertising, consent, Analytics, handwriting-SDK services and the support mailbox; Apple provides iOS and App Store services. These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their applicable privacy and international-transfer terms. Follow the linked provider policies for details. The app does not run a separate operator-owned database of your learning records.
07 Your choices and privacy requests
You can manage device permissions, notifications and files, and use the advertising privacy options when available. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it through the relevant controls; withdrawal does not undo prior lawful processing.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a privacy authority. Send requests to superb.tora@gmail.com with “KoreanFox privacy request” in the subject. Describe your request without sending unnecessary sensitive information. Verification may be needed before information is disclosed or changed.
Requests to the operator concern information the operator can access, such as support correspondence. Locally stored records are managed on your device. For information held independently by a service provider, use that provider’s privacy controls or request process.
08 Younger users and security
Please follow the app’s age rating and requirements shown in your local App Store. A parent or guardian with a concern about a child’s information can contact the operator, including to request removal of information sent to support. An App Store age rating does not itself establish consent for data processing.
Device protections and access controls help protect information, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device and email account, and be careful with exported backups and attachments.
09 This website and policy changes
This policy page has no operator-added advertising, analytics, contact forms or third-party embeds. Its hosting and network providers may process connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the page. Clicking an external link or sending email takes you to another service with its own privacy practices.
Changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Where additional notice or consent is required, it must be provided separately. For questions about this policy, contact 김진우 at superb.tora@gmail.com.
